The Battle of Cherry Blossom Snow was the battle taking place near the shores of Cherry Blossom Snow Lake, outside the border of the Shinomen Forest, where the remnants of the Crab Clan's defenders joined forces with anyone from the other clans who answered their call to fend off the hordes of the Shadowlands led by Akuma no Oni. [1]
Preambles[]
In 1123 Akuma no Oni's horde had breached through the Kaiu Wall and headed northwest, to the Shinomen Forest. The Crab forces led by Hida Sukune had retreated to the shores of Cherry Blossom Snow Lake, where they were joined by the forces of several Minor Clans - the Otter, the Wasp, the Falcon, the Sparrow, and the Mantis, as well as ashigaru of the nearby villages. Unexpectedly the Phoenix Clan army appeared there, and joined the defenders. [2] The same happened with the Dragon Clan army. [3]
Battle[]
The battle began the fourteenth day of the Month of Togashi, and the defenders were bolstered with the arrival of the Crane army and the Black Watch of the Scorpion, [3] and the Daidoji army. [4] Using the Yogo Jitte, Akuma no Oni was forced to appear on the field, and he was attacked by prominet samurai, being Togashi Yokuni one of the casualties. [5] Eventually the Oni Lord was killed by Shiba Tsukune in personal combat. [6]
