Ayushi was the Abbot of the Four Temples. When Scorpion forces were occupying Gakka province, he endorsed their actions, but he later was coerced by Ikoma Jun into withdrawing his support. [1] Eventually the Scorpion commander Bayushi Konitsu seized Ayushi's Taoist temple, which was located in a strategic site. The scorpion army entrenched there, as their new headquarters for this command staff. Eventually the Lion commander Akodo Unmei stormed the temple and killed the defenders to a man. [2] The Lion had tainted themselves with dishonor in order to achieve mere temporal victory on the field. Some requested Akodo Unmei's seppuku for his actions, but he refused. Ikoma Jun, as political leader of the Lion efforts, gave up all rights to the captured domain. Omeiyo, formerly known as Ikoma Jidai and Unmei's chief advisor, was appointed as abbot of the Taoist temple. [3]
