Asako Tsuki
Asako Tsuki was a water shugenja, scholar, and courtier of the Phoenix Clan.
Imperial Court[]
Tsuki, who was Asako Azunami's niece, [1] was appointed in the Imperial Court at Otosan Uchi. [2] She used to work in a library within the Meiyoko District, which contained the ninth-century biography of the folk hero Shiba Koetsu, and ancient scroll which Tsuki expected to copy onto paper. She also worked on a novel, which would be titled The Celebrated Cases of Magistrate Yuzo once it would be completed. [3]
Task[]

Tsuki finds Yori's laboratory
In 1123 Tsuki was entrusted by the Phoenix Clan Champion Shiba Tsukune on finding the Master of Earth Isawa Tadaka on Crab lands, or to seek out Hida Kisada on the Carpenter Wall should the trail run cold. [2] Tadaka should return to Phoenix lands, because the Void Master's seat on the Council of Elemental Masters was now vacant, the Master of Air's health had taken a sudden dire turn, and with the elemental imbalance spreading, the Phoenix were in desperate need of leaders. She moved with her yōjimbō Shiba Koetsu to Quiet Wind Plain, where Tsuki waited an audience with the Kaiu Daimyō Kaiu Shihobu. She needed traveling papers to move forward on the southern Crab provinces, athe place where Tadaka had been last seen, traveling with the Kuni Daimyō Kuni Yori. After a meeting with Kaiu Hitsuko and Kaiu Yukiti, Tsuki realized her request would been delayed indefinitely, so she moved to the Hida provinces. During her quest Tsuki stumbled on a Kuni shrine near the Shadowlands which seemed desecrated with evidences of being the hidden laboratory of a mahō-tsukai. She retrieved a journal whose cover was made of human flesh, written by the hands of Kuni Yori, who Tsuki guessed was fooling with mahō, and put the laboratory to the torch. Shortly after a Crab patrol led by Hida Yakamo took her prisoner, and killed Koetsu. Yakamo questioned Tsuki was imprisoned in a cell overlooking the wrong side of the Kaiu Wall, a boneshattering drop into Earthquake Fish Bay. She was accused by Yakamo of being a mahō-tsukai who had destroyed a valuable knowledge which would been used against the Shadowlands threat, so Kuni Witch Hunters were arriving to torture and execute her. Eventually Tsuki threw herself through an open window of her cell, and she survived the fall into the bay with several broken or cracked ribs. Tsuki began her way back to Phoenix lands while the Crab chased her. [3]
Tadaka is Found[]
Tsuki was cared and healed by “Spike-in-the-Gut”, a nezumi female who had found her in the Shadowlands, and aided Tsuki in her pursuit of reaching the Plains above Evil and her returning to Rokugan. Eventually the ratling guided Tsuki to Tadaka's presence, and Tsuki requested him to come back to Phoenix lands. Yori, who was beside Tadaka, suspected of Tsuki's motivations and drew his wakizashi against the shugenja. Spike suddenly appeared and bit Yori's arm, while Tadaka cast Breath of the Jade Dragon, expecting to kill the unexpected assailant, but the ratling was unharmed and Yori realized he was already tainted. [1] Tadaka decided to not kill him, but watch Yori instead, at least until the task they were performing was finished and Yori was still in control of himself. Tsuki would remain by Tadaka's side until the deed was done. [4]
The Temple of the Ninth Kami[]
The fourteenth day of the Month of Togashi, Tsuki and her companions reached a crater, the place where the Seven Thunders fought the Ninth Kami, where Fu Leng fell. Yori donned Tadaka a smooth, featureless, white, porcelain mask which allowed him to see a huge obelisk, the Temple of the Ninth Kami, the resting place of Fu Leng himself, which was invisible to those who were not tainted. Isawa Akuma had brought to the Temple of the Ninth Kami the firsthand account written by Kuni himself which told how the Thunders defeated Fu Leng, and Tadaka expected to recover it to gain knowledge on how to deal with the Shadowlands threat. Overwhelmed by the taint, Yori attempted to kill Tadaka, but Spike killed the Crab first. [5] Once Tsuki trespassed the temple's entrance she could saw the building. The tainted creatures there disregarded them as long as Tadaka wore the porcelain mask, and so long as his companions stayed close. They found Kuni's scroll and Tadaka unfurled it. [6] Shosuro's account told that Shinsei's plan was to buy time. Time for ‘Togashi's Duel’ Time for the next Day of Thunder. Tadaka donned to Tsuki the porcelain mask, and they left Tadako back, who would confront Akuma no Oni, who possessed the corpse of the dead man once known as Isawa Akuma. [7]
