Asako Shoji was a shugenja of the Phoenix Clan.
Colonies[]
Shoji was a member of the Imperial Governor of the Colonies Otomo Suikihime's court, one of many courtiers in an undersized court. Plain-faced and forgettable, virtually no one knew his name. During the Siege of the Second City in 1198 he attended winter court there, but he was terrified of the madness that covered the city. Shoji worked with the besiegers in secret, using his gifts to send origami birds with messages. [1]
Death[]
His treachery to Suikihime was exposed, Bayushi Shibata arrested him, and he was allowed to commit seppuku. Just before the sword fell on Shoji's neck, he had looked up and saw the face of Suikihime, and the faces of all who watched the seppuku. They had no faces. [1]
