Asahina Setsuna was a shugenja of the Crane Clan. The artificer was rescued by Hiruma Noriko from a venture into the Shadowlands, but she lost a leg during the rescue. The two collaborated on countless designs to help the warrior return to the field, and the resulting prosthetic, lacquered and inscribed with countless protective charms, still remained in the armory of Carpenter Castle.
