Asahina Hidari was the governor of the Hidari district of Otosan Uchi prior to the Scorpion Coup.

Hidari gifted his younger sister Asahina Shuriko with a Geisha house within his district, the Doji's Children. [1]

Hidari in public was a nice man, but privately he despised and resented the other clans. [2]
Hidari district[]
In 1120 Hidari was appointed as District Governor, and rumors spread he took part on the death of the previous governor to take the post. His magistrates overcharged the ‘lesser clans’ while offering Crane discounts. Kakita Arisigato was his yojimbo, and he championed any duel his lord was challenged. Hidari's one side approach had been noticed and contested, so outspoken courtiers called for an investigation. Hidari was well considered at court and his opponents could not easily level him. [2]
