Aotora no Kouen, the Garden of the Green Tiger, was the beautiful garden where Aotora performed most of his botanical research commanded by Bayushi Shoju. Aotora was not only a devoted researcher, he was also a master gardenr, and he passed his knowledge on to his children. The Garden of the Green Tiger was lush and beautiful at first glance, with perfectly pruned bushes, a gurgling stream, and well-tended cherry trees. Camouflaged among the foliage, however, were hundreds of different plant varieties used in creating medecines, poisons, and antidotes. Any herbalist who visited the garden recognized them immediately. Anyone wishing to create a herbal poison, antidote, or medicine could find what he sought in this place. [1]
