Anju was a Mantis sailor of the ship Metora they sailed forth to see what was in the other side of the Shadowlands Coast of Dark Mist. The ship and crew were lost under the attack of Umi-Bozu, Jadoku no Oni, and Wanizame no Oni. Anju boarded the ghostly ships manned by gaki known as Funa-Yorei, which was his final demise. The last information got from him was Metora's Kokai-Nisshi, the ship's log, carried by a half-dead courier pigeon, so rotted by Taint it could no longer fly. [1]
