Akodo Arasou was the Right Hand of the Emperor, High General, Champion of the Lion, and Daimyō of the Akodo. [2]
Early Years[]
Family[]
Arasou was son of Akodo Daio [2] and brother to Akodo Toturi. [3] Despite being the firstborn heir, Toturi was never meant to become the leader of the Lion Clan. The bold and beloved Arasou was better suited to the role by far. [4]
Reign[]
Arasou was selected as the Lion Champion despite he was two years younger tan his brother Akodo Toturi, [5] who was secluded in a monastery at the time. [3] The Scorpion maintained a tenuous alliance with Arasou against their common enemy, the Crane Clan, who sought to carry out an age-old vendetta at the side of his beloved, the warrior Matsu Tsuko, and the aid of a brilliant new general, Akodo Toturi. Arasou also had brokered a peace with the Unicorn Clan. [6] He ordered the Ikoma Daimyō Ikoma Anakazu to forswear his family so that he could fulfill the conditions of the marriage arrangement that had been agreed upon by both champions. [7]
Arasou's Death[]
Arasou campaigned at the foot of Toshi Ranbo for several weeks, after the city had been seized by the Crane. He was reinforced by an army led by his brother Toturi, who had his beloved Tsuko under his command. Arasou attempted to storm the city with a frontal assault, only to fall under the arrows thrown by Doji Hotaru, the Crane Clan Champion. Toturi became the new Lion Champion after his late brother. [3] Arasou's corpse was moved to the Castle of Vigilance for his final rest. [8]
Shrine[]
This year the Lion built a shrine to honor Arasou in the recently taken Crane stronghold of Kyūden Kakita. [9]
After Death[]
In the twelfth day of the Month of Togashi the soul of Arasou was summoned by Kitsu Chiemi near the Forbidden City. The Scorpion Clan Champion Bayushi Shoju violently seized control of Otosan Uchi with an army of Imperial Legionnaires led by Ambassador Ikoma Ujiaki and loyal Scorpions. He sat upon the Emerald Throne, having murdered the Emperor and declared himself in league with the Shadowlands. An assembled army of Crane, Lion, Phoenix, Scorpion, Dragon and Unicorn samurai had begun the assault of the capital. They already had received word from the Crab that Hida Kisada had fallen, and Akuma no Oni's horde marched across their provinces with the discipline of a well-trained Shadowlands army. Arasou spoke the truth to the Lion, exhorting Lion and Imperial forces to put down arms, siding with Tsuko's forces. [10]
